Celtic tunes are vibrant folk melodies from Celtic regions (Ireland, Scotland, etc.), encompassing traditional instrumental jigs, reels, and ballads. This course is for students who have completed at least OLLI’s Beginning Fun with the Ukulele or who meet entrance requirements. We will use the book Celtic Songs – Strum Together (by Marty Gross, Hal Leonard, available on-line) and expand our ukulele skills while learning to play songs such as The Ash Grove, Barbara Allen, The Blue Bells of Scotland, Comin’ Through the Rye, Danny Boy, The Irish Rover, Loch Lomond, Molly Malone (Cockles & Mussels), My Wild Irish Rose, That’s an Irish Lullaby, and more!
