Mark Twain famously quipped that “Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it”. We are at a point in time where not only is everybody talking about the weather, but some are seriously pondering what to do about it. Meteorology, along with quantum physics and neuroscience, is considered among the more complex sciences with multiple interactions and feedback loops. The course is designed as an introduction to weather dynamics and the basic factors driving weather on our planet. It will also look at the connection between weather and climate and how the two are interrelated. No background in science is necessary as the course is designed for anyone interested in gaining a basic understanding of how weather and climate work.
