Hoover, Roosevelt, and The Great Depression

This lecture will begin with an analysis of the causes of the Great Depression, the worst economic disaster in U.S. history. Next, it will contrast how Presidents Herbert Hoover and Franklin Roosevelt tried to mitigate its effects. The talk will conclude with how and why Roosevelt’s “New Deal,” fizzled out, and an explanation of what really ended the Depression. (Limit 40)
