September 9: History of the Grand Galvez Hotel
Step into the history of Galveston’s “Queen of the Gulf,” and hear some of her fascinating stories (and a few secrets), including her connections to beauty pageants, presidents, movie stars, and yes…even a few ghosts.


September 16: History of the Tremont House Hotel
Travel through the past of the series of three Tremont Houses in Galveston, the first opening before Texas was even a state. These icons of hospitality witnessed war, hurricanes, Mardi Gras, and every era of history that has made Galveston what it is today.


September 30: History of the Broadway Cemeteries

Beginning in the Galveston’s Broadway Cemetery District has offered a resting place, a haven of contemplation, and outdoor art to generations of islanders. Discover remarkable stories of world-class artists, soldiers, storm victims, and millionaires … all to be found in this National Historic District.


October 7: Ghosts of Galveston

With the reputation as the most haunted place in Texas, Galveston has more than its share of ghost stories to tell. Join author Kathleen Maca as she shares tales, some eerie and some humorous, of some of the islands’ restless former citizens.
