In this class we will carefully study paintings by Van Gogh, Georgia O’Keeffe, Picasso, and Monet and learn about their style and painting techniques. We will also learn how each became painters and the obstacles they faced when entering the art world. Finally, we will produce a small painting of our own that reflects the style of these masters but expresses each individual’s thoughts and feelings.

No previous art experience is necessary for this course. We will work with a variety of media such as watercolor, acrylics and collage. (Limit 12)
