Whether you’re an old hand at vocal harmony or just starting out, this course will help you feel more assured and have more fun by exploring what’s at the heart of it: fundamentals of vocal production; ear-training; intervals; chords and inversions; and blend and balance. Using familiar popular music, we’ll work in a lead-and-backup format, affording each student the opportunity of stepping out and singing lead, with the additional possibility of participating in public performance at an OLLI event. There will be music theory involved, and basic knowledge of reading music will definitely be a help. Vocal techniques offered in the Discover Your Voice course will also be useful. Henry Aronson conducted almost 20 shows on Broadway before relocating to Galveston Island in 2023. He wrote vocal arrangements for the Broadway production of "The Rocky Horror Show" and the pre-Broadway revival of "Little Shop of Horrors," among many others. (Limit 18)
