Aromatherapy for Hospice and Palliative Care I

This introductory program will cover the integrative use of essential oils in the practice of caring for persons with life limiting diagnoses.  These can include respiratory/cardiac disease, cancer care, neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinsons, Alzheimer's Disease, and more.  With just several key oils it is possible to make a difference in not only symptom management, but quality of life for the client and the family as well.  The powerful emotional benefit of essential oil use at this stage of life is especially important.

Course will present:

Essential oil basics such as safety, dilutions, carriers, blending and ways of application that differ from normal use.

Disease specific essential oils and effective applications

Use of essential oils if client is not in a home environment.

Documentation and determining effectiveness and need for any changes.

Blending exercise with included essential oil kit along with dilution rates for many of the covered diagnosis.

Skin/wound care post chemotherapy

Included in this program are all printed materials, dilution and blending tables, intake form specific for essential oil use, exercise in blending for certain of above diagnoses or symptoms.

Kit includes 4 essential oils commonly used in Hospice and Palliative Care.
