Social Responsibility - Complexity of Self-Image & Behavior
Class: Repeats in Spring | Registration opens Saturday, August 29, 2026 9:30 AM MDT
This course examines the complexity and incongruity of self-image and behavior in contemporary society. We look at how we believe we are a compassionate person and then act otherwise and justify our behavior. We explore the physiology of how the mind works, the societal structures that ingrain our conscious and unconscious gaps between self-image and action; the far-reaching implications of our predictable behavior and how to recognize triggers that make us react rather than act. We will identify practices to move beyond familiar beliefs, thoughts, and behavior to help us move effectively and consistently to foster the common good in these turbulent times.
NO CLASS on Oct. 16 for Fall Break.
