Contemplation & Conversation: A Philosophy Salon
Class - Fall Only | Registration opens Saturday, August 29, 2026 9:30 AM MDT
Philosophy salons trace their roots to early modern Europe, where small groups gathered to discuss literature, philosophy and the life of the mind. This salon, held monthly, continues that tradition through shared reading and thoughtful dialogue. For the first session, we will read selections from The Handbook of Epictetus, sections 1, 5, 8, 33, and 50, and explore questions of control, judgment, and how to live. Class is limited to 10 students.
Class meets monthly on second Monday: 9/14, 10/12, 11/9.
