A Deep Dive into Words

Does pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosi seem impossible to pronounce, spell and understand? It's really easy peasy with a basic understanding of how English came to be. Take a deep dive into the puzzle of decoding words and word histories to improve reading, listening, memory, focus and thinking. Instructor Jill Wilks is a bundle of joy, so yes, she can make words fun too!
This class meets twice a week for 3 weeks on Tues/Thurs 10/20, 10/22, 10/27, 10/29, 11/3, 11/5.

After 35 years teaching writing and neural plasticity at Southern Utah University, Jill retired early to allow travel time to present her book, Your Expanding Intelligence, to leaders in medicine, mental health, education and government. But instead, she was a passenger in a high-speed accident and spent 13 years using neural plasticity and the BrainWorks Toolbox to recover from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The course that Jill designed and implemented at SUU included new students, faculty, and staff from across campus. When student success rates soared, the administration made the course required for graduation and faculty/staff training. Jill is now back from the TBI, recovering from recovery and rewriting BrainWorks for the unlimited applications of plasticity beyond school, work and wellness.
