Class - Spring Only | Available (Membership Required)

Washington County residents consistently rate water availability and management as one of their highest priority issues. The Water Genius program creates a community of informed citizens who understand where their water comes from, how it is managed, and how our personal and collective choices affect the region’s water future. Through presentations, discussions, and optional field experiences, participants will gain knowledge and confidence to be ambassadors for water stewardship in Washington County.

All classes are held at the Washington County Water Conservancy District, 533 E Waterworks Drive, St. George

Note: Optional competency exam--students completing at least 8 sessions may take an optional open-book “Water Genius” exam to receive a certificate.

Douglas Bennett

Doug Bennett oversees the Washington County Water Conservancy District’s conservation program. He has 30 years’ experience in successful conservation programs at three western water agencies. Doug is a director for the Alliance for Water Efficiency and has worked on projects for the Water Reuse Foundation, the Water Research Foundation, the US EPA WaterSense Program, the US Green Building Council and the American Water Works Association. He has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and a master’s degree in business management.
