MidCentury Modern Design (ZOOM)

Class - Spring Only | Registration opens Monday, January 5, 2026 9:30 AM MST

Art Deco led to the Bauhaus which led to Modernism in the 1950s and 60s. Miller-Knoll and their designers, including Saarinen, Bertoia, Eames, Nelson, led the wave. Celia grew up hearing the backstories of designers and in a home full of the furniture of the era. Indulge in factual and entertaining history of midcentury modern designs, culminating in a field trip to the Bertoia Foundation gallery where you will see, touch and sit in examples.

This is a 4-week course, including three in-class lectures and the fourth class will be a field trip on Feb. 5 to the Harry Bertoia Foundation gallery to see live examples and experience midcentury modern firsthand.
