Unique Biodiversity of Washington County
Class: Repeats in Spring | Registration opens Monday, January 5, 2026 9:30 AM MST
This 7-week course will address the importance of biodiversity globally but will also focus on the unique biodiversity of Washington County, where there are over 100 species of plants and animals that are found nowhere else in the state. This extraordinary biodiversity is the result of several factors working together. (Seven lectures and optional field trips - light walks.)

Marshall Topham
Marshall Topham is a lifelong outdoor enthusiast. He holds a B.S. degree in Zoology with minors in Botany and Chemistry and an M.S. in biology from the University of Hawaii, as well as an M.S.in Public Administration from USU. An educator for 40 years, Marshall has served on numerous boards and committees for federal, state, and local entities. He teaches Environmental Science at Utah Tech University.
