Finding Common Ground: Intentional Communication
Class: Repeats in Spring | Available (Membership Required)
This BrainWorks Speciality Toolbox course is only for those who have taken BrainWorks: A Toolbox for the Mind in past semesters. Using the three tools of neural plasticity learned in Brainworks: A Toolbox for the Mind, participants will apply the toolbox to direct self-talk and communication with others. By taking a deep dive into the fascinating world of our neuro-library, forest and paradigms, we can direct our thoughts and actions using intentional communication with ourselves and others! With 8 billion of us on the planet and on our way to 10 billion by 2030, think of all we can learn about ourselves and others! Remember the BrainWorks RX for slowing and reserving aging? Fancy $50 word? Neurogenesis! Curiosity! With 8 billion libraries to ‘read,’ let’s get to listening and talking... with intention! This workshop’s intention: Find Common Ground.
Class meets twice a week for three weeks on Oct. 21, 23, 28, 30, and Nov. 4 & 6th.
Jill Wilks
After 35 years teaching and writing neural plasticity at Southern Utah University, Jill retired early to allow travel time to present her book, Your Expanding Intelligence, to leaders in medicine, mental health, education and government. But instead, she was a passenger in a high-speed accident and spent 13 years using neural plasticity and the BrainWorks Toolbox to recover from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The course that Jill designed and implemented at SUU included new students, faculty, and staff from across campus. When student success rates soared, the administration made the course required for graduation and faculty/staff training. Jill is now back from the TBI, recovering from recovery and rewriting BrainWorks for the unlimited applications of plasticity beyond school, work and wellness.
