Photography Club

Annual Club | Available (Membership Required)

Join the Photography Club for weekly photo walks to familiarize yourself with your digital camera. Our Saturday morning walks will help you to perform camera operations in the field using aperture, shutter speed and ISO to create better photographs. The club is geared toward beginning photographers who currently use their cameras only in the auto mode to take pictures. Students will learn how to stop or blur action, how to change depth of field, and how to take pictures in low light or dark conditions. Walks will be in parks downtown and surrounding areas. You must have an adjustable camera. This club is limited to 20 participants to make instruction during walks more manageable.

To join, you must have an ICL membership.

Matthew Asai

Matthew Asai has been an avid photographer since 1972. He has extensive experience shooting weddings, landscapes and portraits. As a volunteer Virginia State Park photographer, he photographed eighteen state parks and taught seminars at several of the state parks. His work has been published in a number of Virginia publications. He taught Digital Photography for the Stafford Parks and Recreation Department, in Stafford County, VA. Matthew was the Co-organizer and later organizer for the Fredericksburg, VA Fresh Start Photography Group and is a current member of Color Country Camera Club.
