Native American Flute - Beginner

Have you been captivated by the sound of the Native American Flute and always wished you could play it? Well, this is your opportunity! Welcome to the beginner class where you will learn to play this hauntingly beautiful and healing instrument. No music to read - let your soul sing! As long as you can breathe and wiggle your fingers, you can learn to play! Instruments provided or bring your own a Native flute in the key of A minor.
This is a 6-week course.
Nancy Haga
Nancy Haga has played, taught and performed the Native Flute for over 10 years. She is the Director of the Solstice Flute School, a 501C3 non- profit organization based in Park City, Utah. www.solsticeflute.org. Nancy also volunteers playing the Native Flute for hospice.
Nancy holds an M.Ed from the University of Virginia and taught deaf children for 13 years. In addition to various corporate positions, she has taught Reading on the Pima Indian reservation in Phoenix, volunteered at the Elder Center on the Mescalero Apache reservation in New Mexico, and taught English with Global Volunteers in Romania and Portugal.
Rodger Heard
Rodger has been a member of the Zion's Flute Circle for 6 years. He's trained with Rona Yellowrobe, Bob Reese, Carl Rich and many others. He has a great background in the ceremonial origins of the Native American Flute, sees it as a Spiritual instrument in nature. He adds alternate styles of music and accompaniments to the musical diversity of our course. He is a fun and welcome addition to the team.
