Jill Wilks
I retired early after 35 years teaching writing and neural plasticity at Southern Utah University. I had started a speaking career to train medical, mental health, educational and government leaders to apply recent findings from the neural sciences. When the demand for training grew, I retired to allow for more traveling to present, my book, Your Expanding Intelligence.
Instead, I was a passenger in a high speed accident and spent 12 years using neural plasticity to recover from a Traumatic Brain Injury. The course that I designed and implemented at SUU included faculty and staff from across campus. When student success rates soared, the administration made the course required for graduation and faculty training. I have rewritten the book for a general application of plasticity. The applications are limitless.
