 In this one-day oil painting demo and lecture, we’ll take a deep dive into the common working methods of Dutch artists from the 16th and 17th century. Instructor Eric Johnson will walk you through how to simplify the process that many of the Dutch master painters would have worked along with the material and limitations that they had.  
 We’ll cover:
  -  Analysis of artist working methods like Rembrandt, Vermeer, Peter Paul Rubens. 
-  A sophisticated and deconstructed layering process that provides a reliable and repeatable working method that is easily implemented in your own work 
-  What mediums should you use and how should you apply paint for glazing 
-  How to keep your light/shadow structure clear 
-  What materials did 16th and 17th artists use supported by conservation study  
This is a  info-packed session for anyone looking to improve their own painting process with timeless skills passed down from the masters.
