Course Outline
Day 1: Sight-Size Measuring & Drawing a Construct
Master the sight-size method to measure proportions accurately. Build the foundation of your drawing with a precise and structured construct.
Day 2: Introduction to Charcoal Rendering & Big Form Modeling
Develop your ability to observe and interpret light and shadow. Learn big form modeling to establish the overall volume and structure of your subject using graphite.
Day 3: Small Form Modeling & Creating Light Effects
Focus on the finer details by observing small forms. Discover how to capture light effects and create the illusion of three-dimensionality through careful observation and charcoal rendering techniques.

Currently serving as the principal online atelier program instructor at ARA Boston, he also conducts private online lessons from his well-equipped home studio.
