Everyone loves a day by the Sea. The beauty of the ocean, feel of the sand and warmth of the sun capture the imagination. These experiences are used to create one-of-a-kind art projects inspired by the sights and sounds of this beautiful environment. Using different techniques, mediums and styles this mixed media approach will engage students to recall their experiences of a place by the sea. All supplies included.

Stephany Blyn Jacobs
Stefany Blyn, Artist and Teacher Stefany Blyn has worked as a painter in the Harlem area and New Jersey for more than fifty years. After receiving her Master's degree in Fine Arts from Columbia University, Stefany worked as a graphic artist in publishing and advertising, and as an instructor of drawing, painting, and 2-D design at Virginia Commonwealth University, Princeton University, The Newark School of Fine and Industrial arts, East Carolina University, and Middlesex County College. She is currently an adjunct professor at Nassau Community College where she has taught since 2001. She was early acquainted with the magical presence of art, having grown up in the vicinity of The Barnes Foundation in Merion, Pennsylvania, and having been taken by her parents to the capitals of Europe and on extended tour of India. She studied weekly at The Moore college of Art until she was admitted as a full-time student at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts at the age of 17. After receiving her professional certificate and The Toppan Prize for Drawing, she went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Rutgers University. Her work has been exhibited in many states across the country including California, Louisiana, Missouri, New York, Texas and Virginia. Her large pastel, “The Painter’s Trip” won an honorable mention at the Juried exhibition entitled “Light Effects.” She conducted pastel workshops for the Teen Arts Festival at MCC for many years. Ms. Blyn sketches extensively in pastel and colored pencil and also paints her subjects on a commission basis, as seen below.
