Ever wonder how there are so many colors in the world when there are only 3 primary colors to start with?  This class introduces students to where color originates from, what are the primary colors and will learn how to use them to create original palettes for their own creations. Students will experiment with mixing colors using pastels, colored pencils, watercolor and acrylic paints. Just like a Kaleidoscope, prisms, lights, sunlight and other sources will be used to enhance the materials.  All supplies included.

Cathy Boyd is an artist who has worked independently and on a variety of location and studio assignments.  She is an accomplished illustrator, printmaker and photographer, works in clay, watercolor and acrylics. Her work spans from 1975 to present with exhibitions in the United States and Australia.  She is a graduate of the University of Akron and studied graphic arts and photography at Penland School of Crafts and North Carolina State. She has managed the creative departments for several companies and has directed graphic design and print production. She has works exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Art, Akron Art Museum, AtlantiCa and Mura Clay Gallery in New South Wales, Australia. Her work has been featured on UNICEF Christmas cards.

Cathy likes working with children and other artists and sharing with them a love of the arts and a spirit of creating.
