Wildlife & Pet Painting

Learn to draw and paint amazing wildlife and their habitats or choose to paint your own pet using acrylics and/or watercolors. Bring images of your chosen animals and learn how to draw using correct proportions. Drawing and painting techniques will be taught as you work on your painting. These are skills that you can later apply to any other subject you might want to paint or draw.
- Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
- Acrylics
• Canvas 11”x 14” or larger
- • Acrylic Brushes: At least 4 sizes, approximate sizes ¾” flat, ½” flat or filbert, ¼” round, and one detail very thin brush. Brushes should be firm but soft. Synthetic brushes are great for acrylic.
- • Acrylic Paints: titanium white, black, raw umber, raw siena, lemon yellow, cadmium yellow deep, yellow ochre, ultramarine blue, phthalo blue, cerulean blue, sap green, yellow green, magenta, cadmium red medium, Alizarin crimson. (If you are starting with a set have at least, 1 white, 1 black, 1 brown, 2 different yellows, 2 different reds, 2 different blues, and 1 green)
- • Palette with Lid- Buy one or use a large food container with a tight lid. Line it with aluminum foil for easy cleaning and use a wet sponge to keep your paints fresh.
- • 1 container for water
- • Paper towels or rags to clean brushes
- • Pencil, eraser, sharpener
- • Acrylic medium glossy or mat (optional
Watercolor (if you choose to use)
Watercolor Pad (Canson, Strathmore or Arches) Avoid store or children’s brands · Brushes: At least 4 sizes- approximate sizes ¾” flat, ½” round, ¼” round, and one detail thin brush. Buy Watercolor-specific brushes. · Watercolor paints can come in tubes, pans, or liquid form. If you are starting with a set have at least 10 colors, including black, brown, yellow, red, blue, green, orange, and purple) · Watercolor palette: pan sets come in their own palettes, but if you are buying tubes or liquid paints you must purchase a palette with wells or use a plastic egg carton to separate your colors. · Pencil and eraser
Fabiola Hansen
An experienced and multi-faceted art educator, Fabiola Hansen is a welcomed inspiration to students of all ages that she teaches through Summer ArtCamp, and the outreach programs offered by Crealde School of Art, including the Hands-on-Art Sampler Classes at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center and Easter Seals Day-break Program at the Miller Center in Winter Park. Hansen earned her B.A. in Art Education from the University of Central Florida and has been teaching at Crealde since 1998. Throughout the years, Hansen has continued her own art studies, taking courses in Brazil, Italy and the Museum of Fine Art, Boston. She has exhibited her work in art galleries throughout the United States and Brazil. Locally her work has been exhibited at Casselberry City Hall, Orlando Science Center and Barnett Bank.
