Explore and experiment with advanced watercolor techniques, color theory, and composition to add depth and interest to their artwork. Using new colors to extend their palette, students will be inspired to create exciting and colorful paintings. Learning the secrets to great design will improve your paintings and encourage you on your painting journey!

- Bring in your transparent colors, 140 lb. Arches watercolor paper, palette with a lid and large mixing area, pencil, eraser, spray bottle, 1 cloth/rag the size of washcloth or dish rag. My favorite brushes, Let’s look at your brushes before you buy any more. Ill have some for you to try. 1” or 1-1/2” hake brush, large round brush, ½ “or 1” flat brush, #10 round, and scrubber. Tracing and Graphite Paper (NOT absolutely necessary) Hair dryer (NOT absolutely necessary) Please note: If you’ve painted before, bring what you have to determine if you need to buy any further materials. Patty Kane
Patty Kane's passion is painting with transparent watercolor using a limited palette. She says, "it is a process, which allows me to explore subject matter that inspires my creativity and passion for mixing colors".
Patty has won many awards for her Florida-themed paintings, most recently The People's Choice Award at 1st Thursdays at Orlando Museum of Art and the "Lee Ackert" Award for Outstanding Color at Fort Myers Beach Art Association. She was granted "Art Educator of the Year" at the Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs in 2010 and received a "Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition" for Keeping Hope Alive Through Art at an exhibition in Winter Park, Florida.
