Through an interactive and collaborative learning process, students will create a concrete sculpture with a durable surface for outdoor art. The process is begun by carving the initial form into a large piece of Styrofoam, using a small maquette as a reference. Students will then apply cement directly to the surface of the form. The artwork will be finished using colorful stains and sealers. This collaborative piece will go on display in Crealdé’s Contemporary Sculpture Garden.
