In this hands-on workshop, you will learn very unusual ways to add colored clays and slips, as well as textures, to make hand-built pots that can be altered and finished on the wheel. Using Mitch’s “broomstick” method of making pots, color and textures are introduced before the pot is fully formed so that there is a natural bond with the surface while the pot is being built. Mitch feels this way of working comes close to the way nature forms its magic. Uncomplicated, simple techniques are demonstrated that give very sophisticated results. Learn to use clay in a very different way.
