Class Description

Delve deeper into concepts presented in "Basic Image Processing". Students will focus on the creative side of image processing and learn to create expressive images suitable for making exhibition quality prints. This course will cover aesthetics, what makes a fine print and advanced image processing techniques using Lightroom or Photoshop and 3rd party plugins with an introduction to color management. Explore the possibilities of modern inkjet and Lab printing methods. Other topics will include: creating and using camera profiles, display profiles, soft proofing, calibration, paper types, printing, and matting. Prereq: Basic Image Processing or similar experience.

The withdrawal deadline is a week prior to the start of the workshop.

Manchester, Jon

Jon Manchester

A photographer and photo educator originally from Colorado, Jon P. Manchester brings 30 years of traditional and digital photography experience to the school. His understanding of fine art photography, technical image processing and post-processing has made him a valuable student resource. Manchester was influenced by his mentor, Rick Lang, the late Director of Photography at Crealdé. He says he greatly admired the way Lang related to his students, opening a collaboration of knowledge and learning as much from them as they learned from him.

Crealdé does not accept deposits or partial payments for registrations. Early registration for classes or workshops are encouraged. Students using a gift certificate or account credit are to register in person or over the phone (407-671-1886).

Crealdé's refund and withdraw policies:
In order to maintain the quality of our programs, we have set a minimum number of students for our classes. Therefore, the following policies have been put in place for refunds, transfers, and withdraws.

Classes - A transfer or withdrawal request for a refund, transfer or account credit must be requested 7 days prior to the first day of the session by contacting the main office. Please contact us by telephone at 407-671-1886 or e-mail at lmcbryde@crealde.org during normal business hours. Any requests made 7 days or less before the first day of the session are not eligible for credit or a refund.

Class credits expire after one year.

These policies apply regardless of attendance status.

Workshops - All workshops registration deadlines are at least one week prior to the workshop date*. *Registration deadlines for visiting artists workshops will vary. Please see workshops description for registration deadlines. If withdraw is made prior to registration deadline, student is eligible for a full refund. No refunds or credits will be made after the workshop registration deadline.

ArtCamp is non-refundable upon registration. No refunds or credits will be processed after registration.
