115-Beginner Wheel Throwing: Session 1

Ever dreamed of sipping coffee from a mug you made yourself? Join Lori Pearson in this fun, hands-on wheel-throwing class that is both encouraging and engaging. Learn to center clay, throw pots, trim, and glaze while building your skills and confidence. Lori offers clear demonstrations and personalized guidance in a lively, supportive setting, helping students of all levels create pieces they’ll be proud of. Discover your creativity and enjoy the joy of working with clay! 


This course is offered in two separate 5-week sessions, and students are welcome to join either one or both. Each session stands independently. Artists can try out the class by registering for a single 5-week session or commit fully by signing up for both.


Tuition is all-inclusive and covers the cost of class instruction, use of all studio equipment, glazes, and the firing of your in-class creations. Clay purchases and tools are not included.

  • Students are welcome to bring their own tools or purchase a beginner set from The Center. Clay must be purchased from The Center.

Lori Pearson

BA in Psychology and Fine Arts, University of Denver. Owner and Director of E. Walden Studios, Professional potter and teacher with experience in stoneware, Raku, and porcelain clays. Trained in raku, pit, saggar, alternative, salt, wood and electric oxidation firings. Member of the New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, NCECA, Redhawk Native Arts Council, Japan Society of Boston, and The Center for Contemporary Art.
