324-Watercolor Workshop: Waterlilies
In Person | Available
Waterlilies rise up out of the muck at the bottom of still water. Their round sculptural leaves float on the surface. Here and there beautiful white flowers emerge. There’s a reason Monet loved them so much. Besides the plants and the water, there’s the reflection of the sky above. We will analyze the plant, then sketch a composition of floating lily pads and lilies. Finally we will apply a variety of techniques to capture their color and mystery.
- Recommended professional grade watercolors. Holbein, Winsor & Newton, Daniel Smith and Sennelier are excellent brands. If you are new to watercolor, buy Cotman.

Brushes: #10, 12 Rounds. 3/4” Oval or flat wash. I like Silver Black Velvet brushes, in different sizes and shapes. They are squirrel with a touch of synthetic. Not expensive. https://www.dickblick.com/products/silver-brush-black-velvet-brushes/
I like to use synthetic brushes as well. Escoda, Princeton and Loew Cornell are very good brands.
