Join Illustrator Lena Shiffman in this step-by-step watercolor portrait workshop. Lena will bring in a photo that we will all work from. Learn the steps to create portrait in watercolor. Sketching the structure of the face and adding details layer by layer. Working from light to dark and building the face with value shape and form. We will work on values, texture, and color. Students bring their own materials; Please check out Lena’s material list too.
All levels welcome.

Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Lemon Yellow, Ultra-marine Blue, Sap green, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre, Titanium White (gouache)
Optional colors: Dioxid Violet , DoPayne’s gray
2 jars for water, Tissues
Watercolor palette (large plastic)
1” Flat brush
Round watercolor brushes # 7, #12
kneaded eraser, HB pencil
Watercolor paper or block. (140-lb cold press)
Artist tape, Foam board (big enough to fit the watercolor paper)
