Peggy Davo
Peggy Davo is native of Morris County and has taught art locally since she earned a NJ Certificate and BA in Fine Arts Education (K-12) from Montclair University. She has also earned an AS in Jewelry Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).
She creates pottery out of her home studio in Morristown and is a member of the Potters’ Guild of NJ, which also provides opportunities to show her work.
She is a long-time docent, studying and giving tours, at the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms in Morris Plains. This has heightened her awareness of the Arts and Crafts Movement and has much influence on her aesthetic.
In teaching, she encourages her students to practice and experiment, to get comfortable with their tools and ideas. Aiding her students to become confident and proficient in expressing their skills, individuality and creativity. While also developing an appreciation for art history and nature along with the Elements and Principals of Design.
Peggy also enjoys spending time at Seaton Hackney Stables, practicing and strengthening her riding skills and understanding of the horses.
