237-Watercolor Trees
Adult Workshop | This class is completed
Spend a few hours exploring techniques to paint trees with watercolor. We will practice techniques for creating foliage, evergreen trees, palm trees and bark. Instruction will include using value, composition, and color layering to create believable trees.
Feel free to bring additional supplies or paint colors not mentioned that you are accustomed to using:
Several sheets of 140 lb watercolor paper, 9X12 or larger
Round watercolor brush, preferably size 10 or larger
Flat wash brush - 1/2” or larger
Flat wash or filbert acrylic brush - stiffer bristles than watercolor brushes
Painting sponges (I will bring extras if you do not have any)
Palette knife or old credit card for scraping
Toilet or facial tissue for blotting
Your favorite watercolor paints:
2 or 3 yellows such as cadmium yellow, yellow ochre, new gamboge or quinacridone gold
2 or 3 greens such as sap green, chromium oxide, or Hooker’s
1 or 2 blues - such as ultramarine or Winsor blue
Red - cadmium or alizarin crimson
Burnt sienna
Burnt umber
Sepia

Wendy is a multidisciplinary artist in watercolor, acrylics, egg tempera and pysanky. She has exhibited in New Jersey and the surrounding area, and her work is in private collections. She teaches watercolor and pysanky (Ukrainian egg dying).
