C203-Drawing in Depth
Children (Ages 5-8) | This class is completed
This program is designed for young artists with a love of drawing who want to deepen and develop their skills. Working from photographs or a different still life each week, or imaginary themes, students will learn about the elements of a good drawing and develop a firm foundation of form, composition, proportion, value, perspective and line quality. The class explores the basic principles of visual art, art historical periods and styles, and the work of well-known artists. The teacher will provide frequent demonstrations. Children are encouraged to repeat this class to continue to build drawing skills.
- All materials are included.
Catie James
Catie James is a digital and traditional media artist, who excels in art involving portraits, colored pencils, water soluble pastels, acrylic painting, watercolor, mixed media, and many drawing mediums. She has always loved art but really rediscovered her love for it during COVID-19. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2015 and started taking art classes at CCM in 2020. She has previously worked at The Visual Arts Center of NJ and currently works at All Children’s Art Center in Denville, where she teaches art classes, spring and summer camps, and works as a teacher, supervisor, and social media manager. She loves bright colours, maximalism, good vibes, positivity, drawing faeries and other magical creatures, too. Her work is vibrant and colorful, filled with portraits, and is mostly done in watercolor, mixed media or digital mediums.
