Still Life painting has been one of the most traditionally practiced forms of painting, usually used to train artists to hone their observation skills and enhance their painting techniques. This class will follow both the classical approach to Still Life painting and will also look at the alla prima technique. Students will follow step by step demonstrations, going over composition in the initial drawing, understanding value and proportions in the underpainting, and mixing and layering color in the final painting. Students are welcome to set up their own Still Life at home or work off a photograph that the instructor will provide. This is a great class to learn about Oil painting, whether you are new to oils or have painted with them before but would like to know more!

  • This class will be taking place online using ZOOM. Instructions on how to access the class will be sent closer to the start date
