The steps are pretty simple...sketch, find paper, rip it, glue it, make art. But it's in the doing that the magic happens. Students will work with recycled magazines and serendipity. We will shift our perspective from 'what to do next' to 'what's possible' as we sift through the vibrant colors and lush textures of our salvaged magazines. Working freehand we'll experience the freedom of artistic expression as we rip and glue our bits of found treasure into representational art. Not only will you improve your understanding of color, balance, and emphasis through this unconventional medium, you will also have a new appreciation for what you can create with what you find around you.
