Ink is one of the oldest mediums in history, dating back centuries. This class will help students build and refine techniques needed for drawing and painting with ink. Learn how to use link. shape, and value to form a composition with a variety of mark-making techniques. This class will delve into traditional and contemporary ways of applying ink that will help bring objects to life on paper. THIS CLASS WILL NOT MEET ON SEPT. 30

  • Needed for 1st class:
  • -Drawing board
  • -HB pencil
  • -eraser
  • -bristol board (11x14 or larger)
  • -set of pigment liners with various line weights (Staedtler or Sakura Pigma Micron)
  • Needed for later classes (you can wait to get these supplies):
  • -pH neutral masking tape
  • -Porcelain palette
  • -Round brushes (various sizes)
  • -140lb watercolor paper (Arches recommended)
  • -Eyedropper or jacquard syringe
  • -Sumi ink
  • -Jar for water
