Handbuilding in Clay (Session 1)
Class | Available
Handbuilding in Clay
Roughly 25,000 years before the wheel was invented, humans were already shaping ceramics using hand-building techniques.
This class will explore the different methods of molding clay without the help of machines. We will use different building techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab building to create a variety of functional and decorative pieces.
This class will also go over the many ways to decorate and glaze your pieces so you can achieve the ideal finish.
By the end of class, students can expect to take home a minimum of 3 beautiful and unique handmade pieces.
