Spend a day painting with acclaimed artist Dane Tilghman and discover how to transform photographic references into expressive works of art.

Rather than simply copying a photograph, Dane will guide students in looking beyond the obvious to explore mood, emotion, atmosphere, and personal interpretation. Working from black-and-white photographs, participants will learn to see their references as a springboard for creative possibilities and develop paintings that reflect their own artistic vision.

Bring photographs that inspire you and be prepared to experiment, paint, and discover new ways of seeing. Dane will provide demonstrations, instruction, and individual feedback throughout the workshop.

This workshop is intended for intermediate painters and is open to artists working in acrylic.
