Intermediate Wheel Throwing- Everything but the Kitchen Sink (Session 1)
This intermediate wheel throwing course focuses on creating a variety of functional ceramic wares for everyday use. Students will build confidence and refine their throwing skills while exploring forms of varying sizes and techniques. Throughout the session, emphasis will be placed on craftsmanship, efficiency, and thoughtful finishing. The final class will be dedicated to glazing and preparing completed work for firing.
EXAMPLE COURSE SCHEDULE:
Week 1: Salt cellars, Spoon rests, Garlic graters.
Week 2: Pair of cups, Mugs.
Week 3: Bowls, Berry bowls/Herb strippers.
Week 4: Matcha bowls and whisk holders.
Week 5: Glazing, clean up, etc.

(5 Classes, 15 Hours Total)
- 1, 25 lbs. of clay is included in the cost of this class. Additional clay may be purchased.
- Use of studio glazes and firing is included in the cost of this class as well.
- Please do not bring other clay or glazes into the studio. We cannot fire other work done outside the CCAA studio.
- CCAA fires to Cones 6, using Standard stoneware clay.
- CCAA has community clay tools that can be borrowed during class time. Speak with your instructor for recommendations if you would like to purchase your own tools.
- Clay is fun, but can get messy! Please bring an apron and/or towel for each class.
