Drawing and Painting Still Life: Session 1
Explore the timeless tradition of still life through drawing, painting, or both. Working from a variety of subjects and arrangements, students will develop observational skills while experimenting with different materials, techniques, and personal approaches to creating artwork.
Through demonstrations, guided instruction, and individual feedback, participants will strengthen their artistic practice in a relaxed and supportive studio environment.
This class is suitable for artists of all experience levels.

Duration: 5 classes (15 hours total)

Supply List
Please bring any basic drawing or painting supplies you already have and be ready to create on the first day of class.
Your instructor will review recommended materials during the first class and discuss any additional supplies that may be helpful before you make further purchases. CCAA will also have brushes available to borrow during the first class if needed.
Recommended Drawing Supplies
- Drawing pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, etc.)
- Drawing paper or a drawing pad
- Erasers
- Charcoal (optional)
- Graphite sticks (optional)
Recommended Painting Supplies
- Canvas or canvas board (approximately 9" × 12" or larger)
- Acrylic, oil, or water-soluble oil paints
- Palette or palette paper
- Water container (for acrylics or water-soluble oils) or solvent container (for oils)
- Rags or paper towels
- A small assortment of brushes (round, flat, and/or filbert)
