Introduction to the Pottery Wheel (Monday PM Class)

Class | Available

Discover the art of throwing on the pottery wheel in this 10-week beginner-friendly class! Designed for those new to clay, this course focuses on the fundamentals of wheel throwing and helps you build a strong foundation in working with clay on the wheel.

You’ll learn essential techniques such as centering clay, opening forms, pulling walls, and shaping functional pieces like bowls, cups, and small vessels. As the course progresses, you’ll continue refining your skills while exploring different forms and developing more control and confidence at the wheel.

Throughout the class, your Teaching Artist  will provide step-by-step demonstrations, hands-on guidance, and plenty of encouragement as you practice and grow. You’ll also learn about trimming, finishing techniques, and preparing your pieces for the firing process.

No prior clay experience is needed—just bring your curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to get your hands muddy.
