Introduction to Zentangle®

Zentangle® is a meditative art form creating beautiful abstract patterns using simple repetitive strokes. Students will be introduced to the basic steps of the Zentangle Method and expose them to associated vocabulary with drawing tools used. As well as being immersed in creating actual tiles leaving with a clear understanding that, “Anything is possible one stroke at a time.” ®

Daniel Karakas
I am a retired 20-year Marine Corps Air Traffic Controller who found the most relaxing art form in a Zentangle® class 2 years ago at the CCAA. Attending that class motivated me to recently complete the 2025 Certified Zentangle® Teacher Training in Mystic CN. I appreciate all things art, especially the Impressionism and Post-Impressionism time periods. The artist Vincent Van Gogh’s style especially resonates with me.
