Open Sculpture Studio (All Levels Welcome)
This open-format sculpture class gives students the freedom to explore their own ideas and creative direction. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced sculptor, you’ll receive step-by-step guidance from George, who will help you plan, build, and troubleshoot your projects as they develop.
Each session also includes access to a live figure model, offering students the opportunity to study the human form and incorporate it into their work if they choose.
As the former Director of Sculpture at the Franklin Mint, George has worked with artists all over the world. This is an instructed class aimed at taking the fear out of sculpting for beginners and developing the skills of experienced sculptors. We will be working on a 10” to 12” sized piece with water-based clay, but students are welcome to use oil-based clay or wax if they choose.
- This class shares the studio with the drop in figure drawing students.

- Sketch pad and drawing supplies.
- Wood modeling board and armature wire
- Clay and wire modeling tools
- Water based clay or clay of your choosing
(1, 25 lb bag of Stand 240 clay is available with the cost of this class, please bring your own tools)
Instructor will have most materials available for purchase at the first class.
