Exploration of sculpture for any skill-level using simple materials found or purchased, primarily assembling with simple techniques, gluing wood, shaping clay or clay substitutes. The student will make sculptures based on suggested "assignments" and "projects" and the student’s evolving interests, as well as dreams, stories, ideas, and other sources, i.e., whatever is suitable to the situation and each student. Projects will be assigned with Principles of sculpture in mind, which will be introduced and discussed as needed and as the class progresses. We will occasionally engage in constructive group critiques. Class interaction is encouraged.
