Beginners to Intermediate Artists are welcome to take this invaluable course to learn Oil Painting fundamentals, including Hue, Value and Chroma, various techniques, tips and more. Still life projects will be provided for the class. Students will also have the option to choose to have guidance according to their level and/or in working on their choice of projects. NOTE: While drawing skills are helpful they are not required. If you have the desire to paint and create, these fundamentals will get you on your way to developing your own style!   • Artist's/Professional Grade Oil Paints: (Not Student Grade)

  • Bring paints you have, recommended colors include:

  • Cadmium Yellow Light

  • Yellow Ochre or Raw Sienna

  • Cadmium Red, Medium

  • Alizarin Crimson

  • Cerulean Blue

  • Ultramarine Blue

  • Viridian Green

  • Sap Green

  • Burnt Sienna

  • Dioxazine Violet

  • Quinacridone Magenta

  • Titanium White

  • Raw Umber

  • Ivory Black

  • Masterson's Palette Box

  • Gray Palette Paper Pad to fit Palette Box

  • Gamblin Solvent Free Medium (in tube)

  • Gamblin Linseed Oil

  • Small glass jar with lid for linseed oil

  • "The Masters" Brush Cleaner and Preserver - 2.5 ounce container

  • Paper Towels

  • Palette Knife (with good "spring" for paint mixing)

  • Two to three white stretched canvases in 9" X 12", or 11" X 14"

  • Rosemary.com Brushes Ivory or Eclipse line recommended in a range of flats or filberts in sizes in 2, 4, 6, 8 and larger if you like to work large. Add smaller pointed round for detailed work. Choose other Rosemary brushes if you prefer as long as they are for oil painting. This brand is excellent quality at the best price even with shipping.

  • OPTIONAL: Rosemary.com MUNDY MOP 3/8" goat hair brush - these are great for blending. If you work large, order the larger size (Mundy Mops come in three sizes.)
