The Tin Can Man-O-Man workshop is a fun, hands-on class that teaches participants to see beyond the intended use of discarded objects like tin cans, and calls upon the imaginative powers of the children to find ways to transform the material into fanciful figures, rudimentary robots and playful personae. Pre-punched cans of all shapes and sizes will be used as the basis for each Tin Can Person while wire, soaker hose, bingo balls, Xmas ornaments and recycled beads will form the arms and legs for these tiny robots. Additional adornment is created by each individual, and has ranged from sparkling costume jewelry eyes to colorful telephone wire curls and ringlets atop the head of the well-dressed Tin Can Man or Woman.
