Students MUST read the 11^th edition of ATLS® electronic book prior to attending the course to be successful.

ATLS is the standard of care identified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) for providers who intervene with trauma patients at all levels of clinical practice.  ATLS uses a systematic, concise methodology for assessment and initial stabilization of the multiple-injured trauma patient.  Lectures and interactive practicum address primary and secondary assessment of the trauma patient, assessment and control of hemorrhage, Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, and Exposure considerations, head, spine, and musculoskeletal trauma, thermal injuries, pediatric, geriatric, and obstetric trauma patients, and transfer considerations.  ATLS courses are presented in conjunction with the ACS Ohio Committee on Trauma.

Credits- 16 hours of Category 1 CME

Required supplies for this class:   Course materials will be sent via email approximately 4 weeks prior to your class that will include a link for an eBook of the ATLS textbook. All attendees will have the option to request a paper textbook at that time.  Paper textbooks are not sent to attendees early due to shipping times from the American College of Surgeons.
