Polymer Clay Jewelry Workshop - with CD-R's

This workshop will focus on recycling used CD-Rs to add sparkle to polymer clay projects. The film of the CD is removed and crackled then cut into sections for pins, earrings, pendants, and more. Every student will learn how to finish and bake original creations s/he can be proud to wear or give as a gift.
The materials fee includes a 2-oz package of black and 1 oz of translucent Premo clay, a CD-R, a sanding kit with needle tool and use of my personal tools and materials for finishing such as a pinback, elastic cord, rattail cord, wire for jump rings, pliers, etc. Students are encouraged to bring personal equipment, canes from previous projects, and additional colors of clay. Packages of Premo clay will be available for purchase during class.

Jacquelyn Katz
Jacki Katz is a multimedia artist, designer, and teacher currently
concentrating on Polymer clay jewelry and 3-D pieces including boxes, sculpture,and framed artwork. Jacki holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of MA Amherst. As a tenured art teacher in public schools, Jacki took summer graduate art classes at the University of Hawaii. While raising her two sons in Newton, MA Jacki explored various art media including pottery, quilting, knitting, sewing, needlepoint, metalwork, beading, batik, polymer, weaving, pastels,
watercolor and ink drawing. This multi-media experience and skills translate into a unique perspective.
