Visual Development for Picture Making

Class | This class is completed

This class is
designed to help students put in place solid groundwork for creating pictures. Whether it is fine art, illustration, or production frames for entertainment design, visual development is an important process in building believable imagery. The class will put emphasis on research and preproduction. We will be covering the basics of Conceptual Design: character and environment design, composition, and creative idea generating exercises. We will spend time working up thumbnails with emphasis on moods, composition, and color palettes. We will learn to gather and shoot reference, and all that encompasses the prep work needed to start the final painting.

  • Supplies will be covered during the first class which will be a lecture and demonstration.
