Composition is the combining of forms and space to produce a harmonious whole. In this class we will explore many different masters including: Rockwell, Mucha, Frazetta, Cornwell, Wyeth, Gerome, Alma-Tadema, Bouguereau and more. Each week we will be exploring how each of these master painters composed their images. Using exercises such as gouache thumbnails we will learn how each artist broke up space using value, color and shape. If you have not worked in gouache before that is OK. Frequent instructor demonstrations and critiques are routine.
