This class will emphasize the importance of the individual features and how to best study them. Working from casts, handouts, photos and models, we will commit to memory idealized versions of the eyes, ears, mouth and nose from all angles. We will also learn the muscles of the face and apply this anatomical knowledge to the more specialized areas of capturing accurate and readable facial expressions, stylizing the features, and also the simplification and cartooning of expressions.

  • NOTE: Watts Atelier now carries the supplies you will need for class! Students may purchase supplies before class by completing a purchase form and giving it to their instructor.
